Compromising Against All Odds

When you decide it is worth fighting for you have realized that you have something worth keeping. If you leave so easily, is it not worth fighting for? Is it fixable? If not then let it go, they didn’t deserve you. Don’t settle ! Be certain you don’t make your situation happen because you fear being lonely. You will invest so much time that you can not get back and become so unhappy. Communication is the number one way to making great strides in a relationship. Letting the one you know that you are a part of the equation gives you self-worth. You don’t have to always be right or win every disagreement but being heard and respected is a part of understanding. If you seem to not be getting your point across, try to write a note or email. Start with why you want to continue to try to be in this relationship. After you list all the reasons that you love being in this relationship, then list the things you want to change... Not only for the other person but for you as well. When you look at your list….by all means if you have more on the to change side you should just run now. You must have some ideas on how you can make your situation better. If you don’t you are just wasting time and not showing that you are coming with some strategic way to help your situation grow. Don’t do the blame game because that will only ignite an argument. Know that nothing will happen in a day but just noting that there is a problem and you have some ideas to make it better is a start. Remember that everything great was built with care and time. Treat your relationship the same way. You will find out that the other person feels the same way. They just didn’t know how to say it. Watch how you speak. Being blunt and forthcoming may work for some situations but this is not the time for that. The person you are trying to embrace is open and heart pumps love for you. Therefore, you are taking a high risk and may cause more damage then good.
When you go into a situation you have to know what you are willing to compromise and what you are not. Now make sure when you state I’m not going put up with this and that, that you are willing to hear the same words in return. Being honest gives the other person the chance to except who you are or not. Who wants anyone that can not except flaws. We all have them. Some more than others. After you talk about how to improve your situation, end on a positive note, maybe a hug, kiss, or even sex. It’s a huge relief after each person gets all the pressure off there chest. They can be who they are and you can do the same. Mutual agreement of respect and integrity against adversity is a great attribute to have.
